Read the occupation, not the headline wage
The Occupational Outlook Handbook describes what the work is, typical education, and a wage distribution. A single median number hides hours, location, and how people actually enter the field.
Add your local constraint
Licensing, commuting, language, and whether openings exist nearby change the comparison. Write those next to the national figures so a training ad cannot erase them.
